The year’s recap would not be complete without mentioning our little Taco. Though trialing activities did not take place as often as in other years, he earned 16 qualifiers and 3 titles in Agility, including his Versatility Silver Award.
Late in the calendar year, Manon and Sandra became authorized AKC CGC evaluators as well as an evaluators for the AKC series of Tricks Titles. Maple Myst held a trial in Cumberland on November 25.
The summer was a busy time, with classes, trials and our yearly K9 Kup events. MapleMyst’s team “Framed!” won many of the events at the Paws4Fun club, and ended the year in 1st place in our Division.
Also in May, we rejoiced at our first non-resident CKC Champion, when Elo, owned by Frank and Terri and shown exclusively by Frank earned his CKC Championship. Elo is from Mysti’s 2nd litter, and was sired by Odin, Shadagrace Because I’m Happy.
In May, we welcomed Mila (Shadagrace Mila at MapleMyst) to Ottawa. Mila is a half-sister to Mysti’s litter, born of Asha (Shadagrace Sweet Dreams) and Finn (Shadagrace Start to Finnish). Mila is owned by MapleMyst and lives with her forever family in Ottawa.
Mysti’s last litter was born on April 10, 2017. She had a beautiful litter of 7, 4 girls and 3 boys. As usual, Mysti was an excellent Mom, providing lots of care and nurturing to her babies.
In late March, just a few weeks before her litter was due Mysti earned her Advanced Ratting and Brush Hunt titles, competing at DogzWorth in Montreal. Neither sleet nor snow, nor belly full of puppies could keep this girl from her nosework!
Tennessee, Sugarok Field of Dreams joined the MapleMyst team in March of 2017. Tenny, our golden boy, is co-owned by MapleMyst. Tenny lives with his forever family in Ottawa.
Also in February, we travelled to Montreal to attend the Club Canin de Chomedey agility events, where Kiire earned her 2nd agility title, the Agility Dog of Canada, after just a few months of trialing.
